One of the biggest days in Girvan's annual calendar, the Festival of light comes to town on Saturday 6th November, when the 'Lore and Legend' event offers a unique night of entertainment.
The roots of the festival's roots are in the traditional bonfire night celebrations and the Celtic fire festival it replaced, and are born of a desire to transform the night from one of explosions and flashes into one of genuine community celebration.
Lore and Legend 2010 will bring coracles and sea monsters, dragons, birds and giants, out of the shadows into the light
The festival is the culmination of six weeks of community and schools events including lantern workshops ending with the amazing river of light lantern procession and shorefront performance.
You can find out more about the event here on the Festival of Light page.
CRAG also needs help from stewards, volunteers, lantern workshop helpers, fire performers - so if you want to weld, weave, paste, steward make tea or spin in circles on the shore get in touch. For more info or to volunteer get in touch by calling or call into the Doune burn stores and have a chat with Erica.
